EMD Power Assembly Installaion and Removal Fixtures

The installation fixture simply bolts to the head on the power assembly. Once picked up, the fixture holds the power assembly at the same angle as the engine allowing for easy installation.

The removal fixture simply slides over the head on the power assembly with the legs of the pulling fixture resting between the crab bolts and on top of the air box in the top deck. Using the two bolts to unseat the power assembly, it allows for easy removal with crane.
